Quando li o memo do Steve Jobs sobre DRM pensei “óptimo”, mas talvez porque sou demasiado desconfiada ou porque um excelente professor me disse uma vez numa aula de jornalismo “quando alguém te der uma informação, pergunta-te sempre porque é que aquela pessoa te está a dar a informação”, ficou-me, do memo do Jobs, um travo desagradável a coitadinho, que não encaixa com o senhor da Apple.

Hoje, encontrei na Salon um artigo, sobre esta matéria, do senhor que tem uma mac tattoo no braço e que expõe muito bem o tal travo que me ficou.

Tenho encontrado pessoas que não sentem restrições no uso de músicas compradas na iTunes Store, antes de me aperceber destes problemas comprei um iPod e neste caso específico também eu não tenho restrições (por enquanto), mas como o próprio Cory Doctorow termina o seu artigo, também eu gosto de manter as minhas opções em aberto:

I think that it’s reasonable to assume that Apple won’t always make the world’s best music player. I’d like to keep my options open. But the longer you own an iPod, the more likely it is you’ll buy more iTunes music, and the fewer options you’ll have.

The style that Cory prints in his books is there. But it is getting better and better. Right now I’ve read When Sysadmins Ruled the Earth which is strange story about what people do in face of despair and about our need to organize and communicate. Right now I’m about half way of After the Siege and I must stay that I it is so good that I had to stop sometimes and remember to breath. Today we see just commercial wars and political pressures over Patents and Royalties. One day, that is probably not far away, we will see people fighting and dieing in trenches.
