After many years running on my home server this blog is now hosted at lylix. I went to them because it was the only Gentoo/Funtoo VPS provider I could find:)

Linode (www.linode.com) has Gentoo VPS too. Cheaper than lylix too, near as I can tell.
Have a look @ slicehost, that is where i have some VPS running, cheaper than lylix and with best specs! Besides other goodies like dns management and remote console managment etc etc etc..
How did you determine how much bandwidth your blog/site requires? Or, how much on average does a blog posted on planet.g.o/{,universe} use? thx
I ended up choosing lylix and I’m considering staying here for some time. Maybe there are cheaper solutions but I always like to give the small users a try.
Jeremy: I had this blog hosted on my own server so I had logs to parse with webalizer and know how much was being used. In my case this blog generates between 2-3 GB a month. Only time this value jumped was when a picture about a movie was being used by a torrents site.
I don’t know how heavy is your blog, but if you use google analytics and have around 300 visits a day you are probably more than safe with the base plan of 50GB.
I’ll probably write a small post about my experience with Lylix in the next few days.
Is jabber.felisberto.net part of the lylix package? I’m having problems reaching the jabber server.
Renato: No the jabber service is still on the old server, ant it is having problems I’m trying to solve. For the jabber service I need postgresql and memory. I need to check with Lylix if I can upgrade my account.
