Extended AT commands for GSM
Colocado por Gustavo Felisberto em Ciência/Tecnologia, Gentoo, Geral, tags: at_commands, smsIn the last week I’ve been working with sending and receiving SMS messages using a mobile phone connected to the computer. For that I had to use something that I was familiar with back in 1995/1996…. AT Commands
.
So far I’ve used:
I must say that the worst phones for this task are the most expensive
. The P990 and the E50 both use the Symbian OS, and as far as I can tell they do not support the AT+CMGL for listing or the AT+CMGR for reading messages.
The Siemens uses some other protocol BUT there is the scmxx software that works fine getting and sending messages.
The 7250i is a bit strange. AT+CMGL=”ALL” for listing all messages gives an error. And the AT+CMGL just lists new messages, after that will output an empty list. Also I had to play with AT+CMGS=”ME” for it to fetch messages from the internal memory. AT+CMGS=”MT” gives an error, although AT+CPMS=? reports that it exists…
The Nokia 6210……. Just works…. They don’t make them like they used to…….

Já alguma vez te lembraste de “brincar” com um pocketpc?
Achas que funciona?
VDIAS: You mean a PocketPC based mobile phone like the HTC Series or the N95?
I briefly tested a HTC but connecting it to my computer did not provide a tty to connect to. I did not investigate much because having a 200€++ phone connected 24/7 to a computer seemed a bit of a waste. If you try and find some info please drop it here.
yeap a mean a HTC one with windows mobile… n95 i think is symbian and not windows mobile…
I think i have a dead 6210 at home… i will check…
By the way do you think its possible to “control” a pc using just sms messages…
Yes N95 is Symbian. Well I guess that “control” depends a bit on what you want to do. I dont know about windows because i do not understand much about remote controlling Windows machines. But in terms of Unix systems, if you can do it in a command line you can do it via SMS. You can send a SMS to the phone and the PC will execute either a pre-stored command, or execute what you typed in the message.
Security Freaks: I know it is possible to Spoof SMS messages, but right now I’m not talking about that.
check out Kannel. It runs anywhere (win, mac, linux) and supports a while bunch of mobile devices.
I was not able to retrieve my sms
I have a nokia 6131 but It doesnt work with the ideas you gave above…
I dont know what to do
any Ideas?
The 6131 is probably a newer phone that already uses Symbian or other “advanced” operating system. As far as I could dig there is no way to fetch SMS messages from such a phone using AT commands.
