Me - Oh, that is a difficult one! If you say saudades it means that you miss something or someone. For instance, I have saudades of my friends, but I have saudades of portuguese coffee too :-)
If you say saudade, it ’s more like a nostalgic feeling of the past, it’s typically Portuguese. We are always with saudade of something in the past, like the past was great and beautiful or something. It is much related with a type of music that we have “Fado”.

Lina - But it can’t be in a romantic way, right?

Me - Well, it can. If I had a boyfriend in Portugal, I certainly would have saudades of him.
