We went with java as it was the one that seemed more suited for the job. We tought about using SWT but in the end went with swing as we did not think that we were going to use any of the extras that swt gave us, and because of the extra software need on the client side. I'm writing a multiplayer turn-based football (soccer) game that will hopefully go into Portage. It was actually my university dissertation though sadly it wasn't finished in time for the deadline. Your game looks really nice there, I wish mine looked as good as that! Hopefully it will eventually. Out of interest, what languages/libraries are you using?
