Proftpd and mod_delay are still giving me more trouble than they should, castaglia ( proftpd’s mains developer ) is saying that we in Gentoo should not use mod_delay unteil it becomes part of the official proftpd release. I’ll probably going to ditch that extra.
Xview ( the Sun’s OpenWin like wm and visual system ) had a sec bug, altought the bug is not exploitable in Gentoo it was decided to fix this, but upstream seemed dead, and the debian patches would not build in Gentoo ( they still use XFree and we use Xorg ), so after some more searches seemant found a group that is still working with Xview and all was fixed. It was fun to have a OpenWin like Window Manager again :) .
SSH in Gentoo is all about openssh, but due to the problems with openssh in August 2003 I ended up providing an ebuild for Tectias ssh server/client. That is still in portage, but they are abandoning version 3.x and moving to 4.x that has a diferent license scheme, no source and no free-for-non-comercial use. They only provide x86 binaries, and it has been a pain to make an ebuild for that.
